about Your Committee Members.....

First of all a big thanks to them all and to all the membership, for keeping this geographically spread out membership a real goer - it's ages since i've been able to attend, but i've always thoroughly enjoyed everyone's convivial company, and also  the friendly professionalism. and i have learnt much too  from knowledgeable speakers and learned colleagues.. thank you all.

and the homer in me can remember some wonderful nosh and grog too!

thanks to all who have organised these events through the years

cheers!

(also once the above are registered we could remove their emails - and they can be contacted via the pm - message system which forwards via email but without showing the member's email , unless they are happy for it to be public)

maybe a bit of bibliography and some mugshots would be nice

and maybe some of your wishes for the society at hand and at large

your new webmaster is jolyon wardle email and this soul-trade link should give you some more info :)

webmaster@ncso.org.uk now we have the domain transferred.....

this domain was migrated to a new server and set up ......(over a troubled weekend, but aided by a good helping of sardinian red - cannonau - nepente di oliena - it really helps!)

will put up more info as i can get hold of it

the sept 09 'upcoming meetings' isn't very illuminating i am afraid

i have retrieved the memberform which methinks needs redoing/updating -(perhaps readable contact details even)-- mail me and i'll set it up -- i can even set you up online membership!! but i'll charge you serious red wine for that weekend, but you will save a bomb on stationery, time and anguish - enough for a mighty shindig i'd wager!

i can set it up as a subscription and/or  annual payment - and i could computerchase stragglers :)

- i have always been a late payer too but it is much easier to pay online! and seriously it is worth you discussing this - i have set up a non public committee board, where you can discuss and plan, -- post and respond at your leisure, - but look at how much is spent in time and money by administration on stationery, - all expenses included, - and i can assure you of potential and possible pruning, and, if you want to integrate many of the different 'admins', especially those involved with membership, - and communication with them, ---- and perhaps improve the system on the way.....(and of course it's greener - paper post trees ...)

- all members can post a 'Calendar event', along with a post, by themselves in a time to suit, and individual jobs can be done through this site - ie mass mailings/newsletters -- are available for all members to use - without having to use their email client -- have a look at the "Messages" section - you don't even get to see a member's email - unless they have checked "the make my email public" in the Profile area - all reached from the top menu.

all this can be done in the time you choose - you can "half complete" a job/ or even delegate it here with other members when they arrive/populate this forum, or myself.

quite a few "admin" tasks can be automated, and though taking a little time to set up initially, -- soon become a little easier...(indeed many of the tasks can be self functioning by us all -- as members

"one important question needs to be asked -- who hasn't got an email?"

with luck you will have a total online feasability!! (and if the occasional someone wants to snail mail no problem)

i would suggest one last written missive, requesting all members to join/register on this site - as the society is steering to online; green, lean and available as when - more immediate and with so much less paper.....

and further, that if you all so decide, - then the payment setup gets online & automated.

these are things you need to discuss, - but i could certainly complete this site, and indeed help it to become more of a community, if you give me the nod..

this could be something you discuss at your next meeting, as long as you all agree to continue the discussion, in the odd moment here online, in the interim before your next meeting. When is the next meeting btw? Where is it? I should love to attend, and could perhaps be available for questions/feedback etc

we are involved with a few  online communities here at home, who meet up face to face throughout the year, but also manage to maintain a useful connection, support, and interchange on the wonderful interweb, using these sort of forum softwares......

by all means have a look round http://www.soul-trade.com and links therein......

also, now it is the members turn - we can all be known by our posts so -- please get using this site

we have just worked out that i have spent 4 days and nights on these 2 sites - the other - this one's twin, is linked on my site if you would like to see it. anyhow these past 2 days, and this morning i got to bed at 5am!

has been spent on this site, so make my day and use abuse and enjoy it :)

just ask for help if u need it - there is an inbuilt Help too (top menu 3rd button)

but there may be gremlins to work through yet - so don't be shy telling me what for...

you are all moderators on this forum! as it evolves.......

night!
